The craziest thing is happening today....Brock and I are celebrating our 9th Wedding Anniversary! Its crazy how a year flies by but its even more crazy how 9 YEARS fly by!
I love when our anniversary comes around because I really enjoy reflecting on our wedding day and all the days since. It is interesting to think about how much is the same and how much is sooo different.
I'm really grateful to have married someone who I respect, love and have loads of fun with. Brock makes me laugh like crazy on a daily basis ( milk coming out of your nose type hilariousness). I think he his the smartest, kindest, most hardworking person I have ever known. Oh did I mention I think he's super HOT too? Yeah, he's pretty much a big deal! I'm still not quite sure how I lucked out to get such a catch? Oh well, the joke is on him!
Since we have our little miss on the way and we are saving funds for her arrival, we have decided to keep our anniversary celebrations low key this year. We are going to have Dinner at Montana Ale Works tonight, tomorrow we are going to go get massages (instead of gifts) and this weekend we are taking our new(ish) trailer out to the Maddison to camp! However, for our 10 year next year we are bringing out all the "bells & whistles" for our anniversary. We are planning on a tropical cruise with some of our best pals who were all married the same year as us. It's going to be amazing! So....today I'm starting my "cruise 2013" savings and in the fall I'll start working on my beach bod! (Mikelle, if you're reading this you better remind Adam about the cruise:)
Happy Anniversary Love!
My baby is now 22 weeks old and the size of a Spaghetti Squash! She weighs about 1 pound and is almost a foot long. Now wonder why I feel huge and I am starting to feel winded very easily! I also am starting to have a hard time getting up out of bed-I feel like I have NO muscles in my stomach.
My hips are still bugging me so I threw down some money at the Chiropractor and I had no relief. He basically told me to deal with it because it just part of pregnancy and he doesn't like to adjust too much in the lower back when women are pregnant. So I guess I will just deal with it for now.
As the baby continues to grow she seems to be more active or I am just feeling her more because she's stronger. Either way she moves all the time and I love, love, love it! The other day she was jabbing me really hard and I could feel it on my abdomen so I had Brock try to feel her. Neither of us thought he'd be able to but he did...twice! It was so cool.
Things are going great but I am starting to feel really chubby and unattractive. I think other pregnant people look so cute and I just feel frumpy. Oh well, I am okay with being frumpy and chubby to get our little miss here with us. Life is good!
We've been trying to make a decision on a car seat and stroller (okay, I've been trying to decide). I was trying to decide between the travel system and/or jogger. I've finally decided what we are doing, which is a huge relief. We are going to buy the Chicco Travel System and a separate jogger. We'll probably have to wait a while before we get a jogger but I'm going to watch yard sales, craigslist & KSL for deals.
We were at Target the other night looking at car seats and Brock decided it was a good time to register. So we did and he was in charge of the scanner andof course he went wild. He was scanning almost everything, so we have a very detailed registry. He insisted on a lot of pink and girly stuff. There were some things that I thought would be wise to go neutral on but he insisted that his daughter would have girly things. I picked out a toy that had blue and green on it and he said it was too boyish, I tried to tell him that she can have blue and green things too. I also mention that if we have another kid it would be good to have the big things neutral so we don't have to buy again, he said "no" we'll just buy new stuff. So we are registered for A LOT of pink and purple, which I'm totally okay with. I thought it was really cute of him and I've never seen him that interested in shopping. I was the one telling HIM that we had enough and we should leave the store. He is so excited for our baby which makes me even more excited!
Here are a couple outfits that Brock picked out for his little lady. I think they are adorable!
My dear friend brought Brock and I these pretty pink roses and some girl clothes when she found out that we were having a girl. It was so thoughtful and nice! I'm so grateful for good friends and family.
We finally had our ultrasound yesterday with a specialist in Billings and everything checked out great! We got to watch our little monkey move around during the extended detailed ultrasound. Of course they check all the important stuff before they check the "privates" to tell us the gender, it had us anticipating almost the whole time!
I was still sold that it was a boy the whole time, I even thought I had seen "boy parts" but what do I know??? She probably wasn't even looking down in that area when I thought that...hahahah. Anyway, she said it was VERY clear that it was a girl and the Doctor confirmed it later. So Brock was right the whole time and I guess I should have trusted my dreams!
She was very active the entire time which was funny because I didn't really feel her moving but she definitely was! It's crazy how much I don't feel at this point and it makes me wonder what she is doing when I do feel her because she was moving so drastically during the ultrasound and I didn't feel it. When I feel her move it is very obvious and has gotten much stronger and noticeable. The other night she kept me up because she was moving all over the place!
We couldn't get a picture with her mouth closed. She was opening and closing her mouth the entire time. I guess she was feeling pretty chatty during the ultrasound. She weighs a whopping 14 ounces right now and is right on track. Both the measurements and the blood flow through the heart and umbilical cord looks great. She is breech right now and her head is at the tip top of my uterus, which is still normal and okay at this point. We are very relieved that everything checks out okay. It was nice to go to a specialist because the ultrasound room was way nicer than the one at my OB and the pictures turned out super clear.
While we were in Billings, we went and bought a blanket, some girly onesies and a couple cute outfits with shoes. We also started talking names, we already have a small list going. I think we will probably wait and see her before we make a definite decision on a name. It was a very fun day to spend together and seeing our little girl made everything so much more real for both of us, especially Brock.
This has seriously been one of the neatest things we've gone through as a couple. We are just so grateful for this little blessing that we've waited and waited for!
I am currently 21 weeks in my pregnancy which is totally exciting because we get to find out the sex of our baby this week! We go in on Thursday for our ultrasound which will not only determine the sex but also determine various wagers our family and friends have between each other.
My vote is still a boy and Brock still is sold on the baby being a girl. Today I found a Ancient Chinese calendar that predicts your baby's gender by entering in your due date and the mother's age at conception. By these "voodoo" calculations we are having a boy. I guess we will find out soon enough. I am just looking forward to knowing so I can move forward on the nursery! Brock and I will be happy either way, we just hope everything is okay with the baby.
....pictures from our nephew who is serving in Mexico! Nick has had some really great experiences thus far on his mission. He has also been adjusting to the cultural differences but is totally in love with Mexico and the people there. I love reading his letters because he has such a great outlook on things no matter what! In his last letter he was so excited because he had 10 seconds of hot water in his shower. Its an eyeopener to think about the things we take for granted in our day to day living!
Our Baby turned 20 weeks today and I am now officially 5 months pregnant. Things are going really well still. My back aches have pretty much gone away over the last several days. It still gets a little achy if I have to sit for too long.
I go in on Thursday for my 20 week check up and to hear the heartbeat. We find out what the baby is on the 22nd, so we are really excited for that!
The baby is moving more and more and it is getting stronger so the movements are more and more dramatic. It it the coolest thing ever!
According to Baby Center, our baby is the length of a medium sized banana! Craziness!!!
Brock and I spent the weekend in SLC for my Grandma's funeral. The viewing and funeral were both very nice and what Grandma would have wanted. It was rough but it was also a very spiritual experience to share with my family. It was a beautiful warm and clear day for Grandma!
Each Great-Grandchild had a yellow balloon to release (yellow was Grandma's Favorite) in honor of Grandma at the cemetary. Some of us wrote notes to Grandma. Our Balloon said "Love you Grandma! Love, Baby Belnap". It was was very special.

After the funeral, Brock headed down to Vegas with my brother Marlon to work as fire crew in the Pits at the Nascar Races. Brock was there from Thursday to Monday. He had a ton of fun being down in the pits rubbing shoulders with the "big wigs" and seeing what goes on behind the scenes. Apparently he had a car come flying into the pit he was working and it was finally stopped 2 feet away from him-scary! I think this experience at the Las Vegas Speedway won Brock over and I think he became a fan of Nascar. Meanwhile, I spent time with family which was nice.
....I guess those are the signs of being 19 weeks pregnant!
My back is killing me lately at night and I hardly get any sleep. It leaves me craving for pain and sleep meds. It is the weirdest thing that has been happening over the last week but in the last several days it has gotten worse. I feel like instead of sleeping I'm spending the night trying to find a position that will alleviate the pain in my back and hips. If it's bad like this now....I worry about how I will feel near the end of my pregnancy.
I try stretching and using pillows everywhere, but nothing seems to help. It had me so frustrated last night that even if I could have gotten comfy, I was too mad to sleep. Luckily, I've been able to sleep in a bit in the morning and take naps so I'm not dragging through out the day.
Other than that annoying quirk, everything is still going well. The baby is moving more and more and that's really fun. I am getting bigger and bigger all the time. Brock keeps telling me that we are going to have a "huge" baby when he looks at me. I'm not sure if I should be offended or not by that comment?
I really can't believe we are getting closer and closer to the half way mark! Sometimes it feels like I've been pregnant longer than that and then other times it seems to be flying by.
This weekend we put up our crib and dresser in the baby's room! It was a lot of work because we had to move everything out of the office and guest room. We moved the guest bed into the office and we got rid of our desk. The office is a lot smaller than the guest room was and now it feels completely crowded with the bed, bookshelves, and file. Plus I have no idea where to put our office supplies now? So the new guest room/office/"dead room" is still under construction. However, the baby's room is set up and waiting for the rest of the pieces:)
I'm in love with this stuff!
It went together really quick and easily. There was a huge dead spider in the dresser though, yuck!

My dear and sweet Grandma passed away last Wednesday at 87 years. We are all deeply saddened with her passing be we are also very happy for her to be reunited with so many loved ones. My Grandma has always been really healthy and has always taken pride in taking care of her body. At 87 years old she was still taking care of herself at her home and was still mentally sharp.
The last year she has had a couple rough falls while caring over her large and beautiful yard and garden. Since her recent falls she's been in some pain with fractured ribs and hip. Grandma had surgery recently on her spine to alleviate some pressure on some vertebrae. I was blessed to be able to spend time with her in her home while she was recovering. She was in good spirits and was so excited to talk to me about my baby. She told me that she saw a pregnant gerbil and it reminded her of me, hahah, thanks Grandma! She kept referring to me as her "pregnant granddaughter". During our visit she kept doting on me and my baby, she was so happy and excited for us. I got to show her some of my baby belly and we talked about me needing to get some maternity clothes (which I did that trip). Grandma told me during that visit that she never wanted to live to be 90 and she was realizing how close she was getting. I told her that I was sure that she would make it to 90, she laughed and said "I don't think so".
I know it may seem like a silly conversation/visit but it really means the world to me. That was my last visit with my Grandma before her stroke and while she was coherent.
I'm heartbroken that she won't be here to see and hold our baby, which I wanted dearly. I know that Grandma prayed and prayed for this baby and she was so grateful that her prayers were answered and so are we.
My Grandma was an amazing woman with many strengths and talents. She was the most Christ-like person I know and she spent her life living the gospel and testifying of the Savior. She has truly set an example to all those who know her and especially her posterity.
Her passions were: her family, the gospel, her garden, her grass/yard, birds, the cabin, the color yellow, St.George, painting, sewing, quilting, bottling her fresh garden, making jam, friends, nature, animals, the Temple, collecting dolls, cooking, walking, baking, reading, watching old movies and vacationing.
My Grandma loved her family. She has been reunited with my Grandpa who has been gone for 11 years, her parents, her siblings, close friends and my brother Darwin. I think about the joy they must feel to be together again and it gives me peace.
I will miss my grandma so much but I find peace and comfort in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful for the Temple and forever families. It's my testimony that we will be together again we'll pick up right where we left off.
I love you Grandma!

I am currently 18 weeks and counting. The last two weeks I've started to notice my baby bump spreading upwards. I've been steadily losing my waistline and I am just feeling chubby now.
I started feeling some random movement around 16 weeks but it always left me wondering if I actually was feeling the baby or if it was my imagination. But this last week I am feeling consistant movement and it is the coolest thing ever.
The baby mostly moves after I eat and at night. Sometimes it feels stronger than other times but I definately know now that what I am feeling is for sure the little bambino.
We have our ultrasound date set which is super exciting! We can't wait to find out the sex of our baby. I've been totally sold on it being a boy and I'm more attracted to boy stuff but lately I've been having dreams of a baby girl. Brock still thinks it's a girl but he refers to the baby as "He" all the time. I guess we don't really have a clue what it is when it comes down to it.
I've started noticing light nausea come back here and there after I eat or sometimes at night. The heartburn has come on full force but it is tolerable. I've also been given the "green light" for exercise and I have been enjoying my light workouts. Overall, I'm still feeling really good.
In sad news, I lost my Grandma yesterday which was heartbreaking. I had a really rough day and I miss her so much already. I'm really sad because I really wanted her to be here when we have our baby. I was looking forward to having her at my baby shower and I wanted her to hold the baby when he/she gets here. I feel kind of selfish thinking those things because I know she was in pain and ready to go. I'm happy for her to move on with our loved ones but it is a real bummer for the rest of us!
Anyway, there's the pregnancy update for the last 2 weeks.
