Our Cheeky Baby Turns 4 Months!

As usual things have been super busy around here with work, callings, chores and traveling for Thanksgiving. I cannot believe we've almost blasted through another month, time is just flying! In result....the blog has once again taken the "back burner" but I will try to get it up to speed.

Blakely had her 4 MONTH check up on November 20 (the day before we set out for our exodus to see family for Thanksgiving) and she is just growing like a weed. She is a petite little thing compared to other babes her age but she is growing great according to her own little curve. Her sweet chubby cheeks and double chin is a little misleading, she's actually quite light.

Not only is she growing so quick but she is also learning and developing so many skills. It seems like everyday she gets better at something or does something new. We are just constantly amazed by how smart our little peach is.

We spent this Thanksgiving with Brock's family which is a 10-11 hour drive so we were a little nervous how the babe would do on her first long trip. We were pleasantly surprised at how well she held up. She slept most of the way and only fussed a tiny bit, which I don't blame her! She also had her shots the day before so she wasn't even feeling all that great but she was still a champ.

4 Month Stats

13 Pounds 4 Ounces
24 Inches Tall
35%  for Height  40 % for Weight
Growth spurts?...I think YES!
Hair is starting to grow a little more but it's still pretty sparse
"fat" knees-so cute
Eyes are blue/gray-left eye has a speck of brown at the top. We are wondering if they are going to change to green or brown?
Still LOVES baths and still LOATHES getting out- just learned that she loves to put her feet under the facet when filling up the tub and she's sad when the water stops.
Generally sleeps from 8:30pm-7:30am with a feeding at 3:30am & 6:30am (I wish she would drop the 3:30 feeding but the doc says she's actually doing great and that she still needs that feeding)
She's reaching and grabbing for everything!!!!
More interactive with her toys and plays independently longer.
Smiles nonstop
Jabbers all the time but her favorite sounds to make is a growl
Can take her binky in and out and prefers to do it herself-she fusses if we try to give it to her
Has gotten really slobbery-close to teething?
Loves: music, books, Baby Einstein & singing songs
Turned into a "mama's girl"
Officially moved into her own room:(
Met the rest of her family (mostly)
Can roll from belly to back but is still working on the back to belly roll.
Babysat for the first time (by family)
Earned the nicknames "Cheeky" & "Peaches" because of her chubby cheeks
People always tell us she has big eyes...?:)
Doesn't like to be "held like a baby", prefers standing and being held out so she can see what's going on around her
Has given up the swaddle
Started laughing
Is better about going to bed on her own
Wants to put EVERYTHING in her mouth
Has Daddy wrapped
Sweetest & Happiest baby EVER!

Waiting for the doc at her check up!

HALLOWEEN

Halloween was really fun this year with our little family. We did many "spooktacular" things throughout the month to get ourselves in the "spooky spirit".
My parents, my sister and her kids came for a visit and to meet the little miss. While they were here we had our annual "SPOOKY DINNER". It was so fun to have them here, I hope they can stay longer next time!
We also participated in Blakely's first Trick Or Treating experience at the Church's Trunk Or Treat. They had a carnival and parade prior to the Trunk or Treating which was super fun. It was fun to have our little "puppy" out to show off and to visit with our church friends.
Halloween was pretty mello-ish. Blakely and I spent the day at home making our traditional Halloween grub which is homemade chili, spudnuts & cider. It's pretty much an all day ordeal which I learned is REALLY tricky with an infant. It was such a warm and beautiful day that we did take the opportunity to get some fresh air on a walk. We stayed home Halloween night and Brock handed out candy while I glazed spudnuts and we watched a spooky flick ( I had nightmares). We also had some of our good pals stop by for a visit which is always fun!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Nette, Brin & Bransen met little B for the first time!

We ate Brains, Frankenstein Diahrrea, Rodent Femurs & Bird Guts. We also drank some good old Spider Venom:)

It's getting REALLY hard to get a good picture of this baba-she is so wiggly

Blakely's Room

I've been meaning to post these pictures of Blakely's room but I am horrible about keeping up on my blogging lately.
I really love how the nursery turned out even though it's not what I originally imagined. The thing that excites me the most is that the decor can grow with her and I won't (hopefully) have to change things for a while!

My Friend made this adorable sign for Blakely's room, I just love it. Check out her stuff on EtsyHERE

(she's so tiny here...she is getting so BIG..sniff, sniff)
