About me #9

# 9: List some of your favorite blogs

I really don't do a lot of blog bouncing or internet surfing. I mostly stick to the basics, I check my email, I check my bank account, I read my family and friends blogs and I keep up on what my peeps are doing on Facebook. So, I guess I don't have a huge list of blogs that I follow. Here are some that I love but do not "follow" but I will check them once in a while.....

Brad Paisley Concert

YAY! We finally got to go to our Brad Paisley concert that we've been waiting months for. I was super excited for the whole thing because: a). I love Brad Paisley b). I haven't been to a concert in forever!

It was so gooood and so fun! Justin Moore and Darius Rucker opened for Brad and they did great. I didn't know who Justin Moore was, but he played a few songs that we recognized and he was awesome. He was really entertaining and you could tell that he loved being here. Darius on the other hand was kinda a disappointment for us. He sounded great but sang more Hootie than he did country, which I thought was really weird considering he has a new country album out. (he also sang a prince song....really weird). He left me wondering if he's trying to strike up the old band through a few country hits and fans? He reminded me of "Uncle Rico", he just can't let 92' go. Maybe he knew that the fans would enjoy some old school Hootie & The Blow Fish, which everyone did seem to enjoy. (minus us).

Brad was absolutely amazing! You can tell that they have worked really hard to put a good show together. There was something going on non-stop for 2.5 hours. He totally rocked it! They had huge screens with videos going constantly with lights that probably produce seizures. They even had me wondering for a minute if Allison Crouse was there, but it turns out that it was just a really good illusion. Ya' know how sometimes people can sound horrible live? Well, not Brad he sounded great-and there was no lip syncing. He jammed out on his guitar for a bit and that was awesome too. We had a super time and it was well worth the dough...if you ever get a chance you should go see Brad, you won't regret it!

A view from our seats before the show...we had awesome seats.

He came off the stage and into the crowd and went to the back of the audience to perform to the "cheap seats".

First, I chose this video because I think it is HILARIOUS!
Second, I work in a dental office so of course I think it is  hilarious.
Third, Brock says that working in a dental office has given me a "nerdy" sense of humor.
Fourth, I hope you like it too....
Fifth, .....if you don't.....you can "suck it".

SALSA
On a more exciting note, I canned Salsa with my friend the other day! It was a super long day of chopping and stirring. It took us about 5hrs all together but it was well worth the time and work. I'm so excited to have homemade salsa on my shelf...yum!

It looks so pretty!

About me #5

#5: A letter to your crush

Okay, so this is kind of a weird one to do but I will indulge it. So here's the scoop on me and my past "crush life". Brock calls me the "Queen of Crush" because in all honesty I had so many crushes all the time. My first crush that I remember was a boy named Monty in my Kindergarten class. I thought he was really cute until he came to school with dried Corn Flakes on his chin, which by the way turned out to be scabs that he was eating. (They just looked like Corn Flakes and my 5 yr old brain couldn't imagine what else you'd be picking and eating off your face...gross. I was a smart girl to move on).

Thus began the whirlwind of crushes for me. The boy I liked was always changing probably almost weekly and I'm sure each is recorded in some gooey pre-teen/teenage journal somewhere. (I should probably burn since it would be too much to tolerate to read and it can NEVER be read by anyone else). Even though I always had a crush I was way too shy to let them know it most of the time. I don't think that I ever wrote a note to a crush until I met Brock. Which is perfect since he's the crush that stuck and I still have a major crush on him.

So here's an actual letter to my crush that I wrote to Brock in 2002 while we were dating and I left it on his car. Yes it is word for word and is so nerdy!

Brock-
GOOD LUCK on your test!
I hope you have an amazing day.
Remember that you're a smart face and you're mine.
Sorry, I got my yucky finger print on your clean window.
I am done now (2:45) until 7:00, so come see me when
you get a chance. (I'm going to wait for a 1/2 hr). I love you,
I love you, I want to marry you, I want to kiss you, I love you
more than melted cheese!

Yup, I wrote that. I got nerd chills just typing it. It's a good thing that Brock kept dating me after a weird note like that. Hmmmmm....young love:)

About me #4

#4: A photo of you taken over 10 years ago

Here it is...my Junior year school picture.

....and for kicks, here is my 1st grade picture. Don't you just love the the backdrop? (oh and this picture is proof that I haven't always had curly hair. My hair was NOT curly but was straight as a stick. My mom used to make me get perms).

If only I could still fit into that dress....I'd go Square Dancing, dang!

About me #3

I typically don't post so often on my blog but due to a late night last night and a lot of hard work today, I am lacking motivation to do much more with my life than this. Enjoy:)

#3: Your favorite movie

This is a hard one because I have many movies that I would consider to be my favorite. I am pretty open to most movies; Action, Drama, Mystery, Chick Flicks and Comedies. I used to enjoy a good mild horror flick but I have kinda out grown that. There's just something about indulging in disturbing scenes of violence and dismemberment of body parts that just doesn't jive with me. If you think about it....it's kinda messed up to watch people get murdered and so on. Anyhooo...sorry about that random rant.

I chose GOONIES as my favorite movie. I can't say that it's one I still regularly watch but as a kid and a teen I loved this movie. My brother Jonny and I would watch it every night that my parents had their bowling league. It has all that you need to make a good movie: humor, suspense, action, romance and a tich of sadness. I still quote from that movie all the time...I shout "STAY TO THE RIGHT" randomly at people, most of whom do not have a clue of the meaning of my outburst. (it's actually quite entertaining for me). Also, I thought the main star of the show "Mikey" was super cute...maybe that's why I liked to watch it?

Anyway, there's another rather uninteresting tidbit about me!

Here's the 1985 Trailer for GOONIES-Classic!

About me #1

I saw this on my friends blog and thought it was fun. I thought it would be a fun "journal-like" thing to do. So here is....random boring stuff about me.

It's 50 random things about me you all probably had no interest in learning. I will most likely split it up into many post. (hopefully I make it to the end...we will see)?

# 1: Introduce yourself

I'm Kimberly and I tend to complicate little things and stress about most things. My favorite person is Brock, who takes great care of me and puts up with my craziness. I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my dogs. I choose anything fun or semi-fun over any kind of chore, however, I do make myself keep up on the house. I have crazy wild hair that I have a love/hate relationship with...right now we are at war and my hair seems to be winning. Someday I hope to live in a house that is paid for and have little debt. I have never won an Emmy, Grammy  nor have I been invited to any Red Carpet event. I love chocolate, Dr. Pepper and my mom's Spud-Nuts. I enjoy crafts, decorating my home and many outdoor activities. I am "poser" of fishing, snowboarding and scrapbooking but at any rate I enjoy it. My best friend is Allyson, whom I've known since Elementary School and I wish we could spend more time together regularly. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and in result, I have complete faith and knowledge of God and Jesus Christ and that makes me happy. (learn more about my church HERE ).

Bear Lake

FAMILY TRIP TO BEAR LAKE
We took a trip to Bear Lake with my side of the family. Brock and I were really excited to go because neither of us had ever been to Bear Lake. We had a great time camping, swimming, golfing, boating, surfing, wakeboarding and wheeling. I think my favorite part was spending time with our family and having fun together!

AROUND CAMP
We had fun exploring the heels with wheelers and the Rhino.

My dad cracks me up...I love his shirt.

I can't get over how vibrant the water is.

 AHHHH......I LOVE SUMMER!

Opening Day

We finally got our boat out on the lake for the fist time this summer! We've had the boat since April but had to get some repairs done, get it licensed and it needed to be registered. After many months and a lot of "dough"...we finally got it all done and out on the lake!

We spent Saturday afternoon at a nearby lake and just cruised the lake and did some needed cleaning. We took the dogs with us which was fun for us but I don't think that they liked it. Who knows? I keep waiting for the day that they will start speaking English.

That's All...

Living in the NOW

Let me invite you into my thoughts for today....

While I was at work today I had a really great conversation with my friend. In talking to her I realized that I focus so much of my energy and thoughts on what's next. Everything from homes, cars and jobs to money, hairstyles and dress sizes. Although I think it's important to have goals and dreams, I think I spend more time wishing away what I have already been blessed with today while pushing towards tomorrow.  I have been completely selfish and ungrateful in this kind of thinking and want to do better.

At this point in my life I often think about different times in my life and think "hmmmm...that was a fun time in my life, I wish I would have enjoyed it more and recognized what I had". So in order to discontinue this repeating cycle, I'm going to try to really hard to  recognize the blessings of "today". I know that the Lord blesses us daily and we will recognize his love and blessings if we take time and look around.

Okay, so when I left work I was trying to think of ways to be grateful for today and my life as it is now. As I was doing this, I saw my beat up little Honda. So my first item on my list of why my life is great today is my car.

Let me share with you a short history about my Honda.

It was purchased while Brock and I were going to SUU and we thought it was the nicest car ever! We were so excited to have a new (to us) car. We bought it as some random ghetto dealership in SLC and we were crossing our fingers that we didn't get a lemon.

It's really my FIRST car. (since I drove my Dad's car through High School and College up to this point).

In result to purchasing this car I had to learn how to drive a clutch, which I love, love, love.

It's helped us move all over the map and has taken us on many trips. It still runs like a champ.

It's been a little beaten up due to aging, wear& tear and Montana hail storms. (and smells like a crusty cigarette after a rainstorm).

Brock's been pulled over many times in it for various reasons (mainly speeding) and I have never been pulled over in it. LOL.

Up until today I have been in the back of my mind counting down the days until I get a new car...a flashy one. But for now, I think I will enjoy my current transportation.

I'm grateful for my little car, I'm glad it gets me from point A to point B in a flash!  (watch, now I'll will jinx us....I hope not).
