Random Obsession

Here's a little tid bit about me that you might not know.....I have an obsession with paper and school supplies. There I said, it's out in the open and I'm okay to talk about it now.

Around this time of year I really get excited to see all the "Back to School" items hit the shelf. However, now that I'm not in school I really have no reason for Crayons, Pens, Paper, Binders and erasers. It really is a sick obsession, mostly sick because apparently in some freaky weird way I must miss school (I like to think that I just miss the shopping end of it). I know, I know, I'm a freak.....feel free to judge me, believe me, I'm totally judging my subconscious.

Anyway, today I went in to Target for a few household essentials and couldn't help but walk down the school supply isle 2-3 times. I kept saying to myself "you don't need it & what would you use it for", so I put down the crayons and colored pencils and walked away. In the end, as I placed my bag of random sized notebooks in the car, I felt defeated by those damn notebook gimmicks.

Bennett Island Park Party

WhY bE NorMaL? WhEN yOu Can Be A bEnnEtT!

A few weeks ago we spent a week in Island Park with my family to party around the lake. Everyone was able to make it (minus my nephew Jake who is on a mission in DR) to the party and it was lots of fun!
(Lucky us we weren't in charge of the party this time so we got to relax a lot more)!!!

Our family pic with our "Why be normal? When you can be a Bennett!" shirts.
We spent an afternoon hitting a few spots in Yellowstone, including the Firehole River to swim.

Our cute little nieces asked Brock if they could paint his nails and he couldn't say no, so here's Brock's blue toenails. Looks pretty good eh?Who could say no to these two????

This is what we looked like after our wheeler ride. Pretty SEXY, Huh!

Bella hated wearing her life jacket when she was on the boat. You can pretty much tell how she feels by the look on her face.

Another one bites the dust....

Now that Brock and I have been married for 6 years, it seems like all of our stuff is breaking, dying or falling apart.

Brock was getting ready for work a few days ago and needed to press a shirt, (I've been on ironing strike for about a month now) when he plugged the iron in, it popped and shot out sparks from the cord. Luckily Brock was okay but my poor iron is dead!

This iron was a wedding gift and has been our only iron we've ever had, which although cheap, it has loyally served us for many years.

Now I have to venture out and buy my first iron as an adult & wife. It's bitter sweet.....
Any suggestions on a good iron? (hummm....maybe I should throw in a new ironing board too....)

R.I.P
Dear faithful iron,
Although it was a "love/hate" relationship....we will miss you.

P.S. Brock says he can fix it. I assume his plans involve at little super glue and a lot of Duct Tape.

Rockn' 4th with the Belnaps

Okay, so life has been nuts around our house that last little bit so my blogging has taken the "back burner" and I'm just barely getting around to blog our 4th celebrations. Oooops! So here it is, better late than never.....right?

Every year Brock's parents and siblings have a little reunion and we go camping somewhere. Every year we rotate who is in charge of putting together the party and this year it was our turn. We decided to go to Island Park because that's where Brock's family spent vacations as a family when they lived in Idaho and it's also really close for us to drive to....hehehe.

We had a super fun time together as a family, it went by way tooooo fast! Brock and I couldn't have pulled it off with out every one's help, Thanks!

We took all the kids fishing on Eccles Creek for family tradition and they all caught a bunch of fish. I love this picture of Kaleb and his fish, too cute!
Lexi was pulling one in almost every cast, she set the hook so hard that this fish came flying out of the creek and landed in the bush behind her.

We has smore's and Dylan got pretty nasty, but this picture is super cute anyway. He loved playing with puppy Brutus and left Dylan slime all over him, but Brutus didn't mind!

Taylor sporting her new visor and glasses we did as a craft.

Grandma Hebdon and Duane came up for an afternoon to visit. It was great to see them, it's always fun to have them around.

Brock surprised me with a pink fishing vest for the trip. It's fun to have my own vest but I don't even really know what to do with it....I'm kinda a "poser".

Brock actually had his lips on the nasty little fish, but it moved right when I took the picture. However, you probably still get the point about Brock and his love for fishing.

We went to West Yellowstone for their firework show on the 4th, the kids loved it!

We were camping right on the lake and were able to take a dip to cool off.

Our Hike to Storm Castle

Brock and I have been wanting to hike Storm Castle since we moved here and we were finally able to do it a little over a month ago. It's about a 5 mile hike round trip so it wasn't anything too difficult. It was a pretty hike and we were the only ones on the trail which made it even better.

This picture is from the bottom of the hike looking up at our destination....the tip top of the rocky part of the mountain.

The east side of the mountain....the sun was still just coming up.
Us at the top, the views were incredible!
(yes, Boog came along too, he made it the entire way and loved it).

Brock looking over the edge-freaks me out!

Brock's Birthday Bash!

HAPPY 30th BROCK!

Brock celebrated his 30th Birthday this last week! For his Birthday I threw him a "semi-surprise party". I knew he'd never let me invite people over for a party, so I did it with out him knowing. I think he finally caught on when people just kept coming to the house!

One of Brock's surprises was a new grill that his c0-workers from Wells bought him. We had it delivered to the house while Brock was gone hanging out with my dad, so Brock was really surprised to see it when he got home. It was awesome because we were able to use it for the party!

The party turned out really great and I couldn't have pulled it off with out the help of our awesome friends and family! We all had a super fun time and it was a fabulous birthday!

I made Brock this fish cake because he loves to fish, I think it turned out okay considering that I have never made a fancy cake and had to hand cut it!Our friends Casey and Erin surprised Brock by coming up from Idaho for the party. Brock had no idea that they were coming to our house or why they randomly showed up. ( I think he finally figured it out once everyone was here to party) It was so fun to have them here, it made Brock's day! Casey & Erin's cute girls

After dinner we set up Brock's new Ladderball game and everyone had a really good competitive time.

Carla & Clancy took it upon themselves to cook for us on the new grill! How nice huh? We have some of the best people in our lives! Thanks you two! Brindey, my Mom & Matt

Corbett had a blast!Jen & Bart Dusty, Conor, Daniel & Kristen

A special thanks to everyone who came and everyone helped me with the big bash!

While I was scrambling to get everything done for the party, my dad and Brock spent a day out on the town. The went to see B-17 Bomber, looked at the new cameros, explored pawn shops, spent time at the Harley D store, went to lunch and what ever else my dear father could come up with to keep Brock away! THANKS DAD!!!!

Here are some pics of the B-17 Bomber

It was so nice to have my parents here to spend some time with us. They were such lifesavers for me with the whole party thing! Mom worked her butt off helping with food and shopping. After the party we got to hang out and do fun things too. I wish they'd just move to Montana so we could have them close by and never have to leave Bozeman!

We weren't the only ones happy to have them here! Boog loves them, and I think he has been a little depressed since they left. My parents spoil him!

Our picnic at the Madison River.

Brock forgot a jacket and it was a little breezy, so I made him wear mine. He felt really stupid but I thought it was funny.
