Happy TWENTY THIRTEEN!

Ringing in the New Year is a bit different with a wee lil' one in the house but we still were able to party...a bit.

Brock had to work all day on New Year's Eve (he has been SUPER busy with work the last few months) so baby and I just hung out. That evening we went to dinner to the Outback with our friends, The Bishops, it was DELISH! Afterward, they came to our house to hang out. They actually left around 11:30p to beat the drunk drivers home:)

Brock and I got caught up in a 24 episode and totally missed the 12:00 "ringing in the New Year"...oops! We missed the Time Square special for the first time EVER, weird!!!

So excited about staying up for the "New Year"

2012 was an exciting and busy year for us with a lot of changes. We have been so blessed the past year and we are so grateful that the Lord has watched over us.
We anticipate 2013 to be another exciting year as we continue to venture through parenthood. We look forward to watch our little miss continue to grow, learn and change. We pray that the Lord will continue to bless us, guide us and watch over us this year.
Happy 2013!!!

Christmas 2012

Did anyone else feel like Christmas went WAY TOO FAST this year? December really feels like a total blur! Even though things went so fast, we still had a lot of fun and enjoyed the holiday season.

We were able to be home most of December which was really nice. It was really fun to share our traditions with our little peanut! It made everything so much fun to have her here.

We went to Utah to see my family the weekend before Christmas and had a "Redneck Party. It was really nice to spend time with the family. Blakely caught a cold right before we left but she did really well considering how horrible she felt. She is such a good little traveler!

While we were in Utah, we met up with some of our favorite people for dinner and to meet their little baby girl and they got to meet miss Blakely! It was so nice to catch up with them, it just made us miss them bunches

We made our journey back home just in time for Christmas Eve. We spent Christmas Eve together watching Christmas movies, playing, looking at lights, and eating traditional foods/treats. Before bed we also open a present and watch a church Christmas movie. It is such a nice and cozy day, I love Christmas Eve!

Christmas morning was sooo fun too! I walked into the living room and had a flash of a camera go off into my face! It was the flash of my Nikon 3200 that Santa had left me:) I was beyond excited, shocked and in love. Best surprise EVER!
It was fun to have Blakely play with her stuff from Santa and open some gifts. She had a blast playing with the tissue paper and wrapping paper. It was fun to spoil our little princess for her first Christmas!
The rest of the day was nice and relaxing. We just spent the day at home resting, eating, watching movies and playing with our new gadgets. Christmas is the BEST!

We love them!
(This picture put in to perspective how chubby my baby's cheeks are. Everyone is always commenting on her big cheeks. Baby J is 3 or so weeks older than my baby and you tell between the 2 who has the chubby cheeks)
This is what a baby who has been partying all weekend looks like on an 8 hour drive home!

Five Months Later....

Is this baby really FIVE MONTHS OLD? I Seriously can't believe that my baby is this big, time has just flown by. Last Year at this time we were just telling family that we were expecting and keeping our fingers crossed that the pregnancy would "stick". How Quickly life changes?!
At 5 months, Blakely has really gotten to be a busy bee. She is so busy that I'm always hoping nap time will be replenishing for both of us! Her little personality is really starting to shine through and she is such a fun & spirited little thing. We are having soooo much fun with her, she is such a great addition to our family.

Highlights At 5 Months

Can roll from belly to back and back to belly
Had her two lower Central Incisors come in (we hate teething)
Got her first cold, just in time for Christmas! (boo)
Started eating cereal-not too big of a fan thus far. (I started adding applesauce in and she'll eat it a little better)
14 pounder
Hair is long enough to give her a little "Mohawk"-yippie!
Super interactive with toys, books and singing songs
Super aware of what's going on around her
Keeps a close eye on wherever Dad is
Turned into a "mommy's girl" (love/hate)
Loves her car seat now
Better in grocery stores
Smiles for everyone
Started to lean at people when she wants them
Lunges for toys, books, dogs
Like to watch "Tow Mater" on Netflix with Dad
Sleeping HORRIBLY! (Dang cold & teething)
Her smile changed from a big open smile to more of a small grin-cute
Jabbers more-yells at her toys when she's frustrated (mostly because she can't fit the whole thing into her mouth)
Went swimming for the first time
First Christmas Festivities
Smiley
Loves to eat her toes
We thinks she is advanced:)
Knows what she wants and wants it NOW

First trip to the pool! She was so preoccupied by all the sounds and people to even really play.

12/18/12

Learning to eat cereal...not much love for the Rice Cereal. (I don't blame her, that stuff is NASTY)

Blakely's First Christmas!

It's true....Holidays are so MUCH MORE fun with a little one around. Yes, I know she's only 4+ months old but it has made it so much fun to have her here to share traditions with her.

We have so many fun traditions that Brock and I have started together and we can't wait to involve Blakely in them and also make some new ones since she is here now.

One thing that was new to all of us was standing in line to see Santa. Yes, we took our 4 month old to see Santa! It was so fun to be there and to see all of the kids that we so excited/terrified of meeting Santa.

Anyway, she did great and I think she was the cutest little bean to sit on his lap all day! I'm sure next year she will probably be one of the kiddos screaming at Santa:)

Side Note: What would Christmas be without mom trying to get a perfect picture for a Christmas Card?....She appeased me...

Teething?...I think YES! Her two lower central incisors came in this week...FINALLY!

CHRISTMAS STROLL

One of our FAVORITE Christmas Traditions is to kick of the Christmas Season with the Christmas Stroll on Main. Every year they close down 5-6 blocks(?) downtown to traffic and Santa comes and light all of the lights on Main Street. All of the shops have tables outside with hot chocolate, candy and cookies along with some fun sales inside their stores. They also have music, food vendors and a Live Nativity which is put on by a local Catholic congregation.
We go every year and love soaking in the Christmas Spirit! We typically end our evening with dining at TED's or Santa Fe Red's.
This year we took Blakely to the stroll and is was sooo fun! The weather was really nice and it wasn't too cold to have her out, which was a bonus.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Side Note: Brock got the "Clark Griswald" fever this year and went ALL out on our lights. He had all sorts of things going and brought home a lift from work so he could do the roof. I'm pretty sure the neighbors were judging:) The house looks lovely though:)

He's actually added lights to this:)

At least I didn't have to worry about him falling off of a ladder this year...

We brought back a fresh tree to our house! We miss the smell and the colored lights, it's been so nice to have something different or back to normal (however you think about it) this year!
