Double Holiday!

We had Thanksgiving with Brock's side this year and we got to celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family. It was such a fun weekend with the family and the weather was BEAUTIFUL! It was so nice to spend a long weekend there with out having to feel rushed to get to the next party or to get back home.
It was our first trip down there (10+ hour drive) since the baby was born, so we were so excited for the trip. Blakely did awesome on the drive and pretty much slept the entire drive!
She was quite the "hit" with everyone, especially the kids. It was so fun for her to meet some more of her cousins and some more Aunts & Uncles.
We had a terrific time down there (minus that I got the flu on the last day) and we are so excited for our next trip down!

There's nothing like a nap at Grandma & Grandpa Belnap's house!

We stopped in So. Jo to see my family both to and from Brock's parents. Several of my siblings, Aunt & Uncle and nephew & nieces came out to see us Blakely. Unfortunately, she was pretty crabby for everyone:(

Our Cheeky Baby Turns 4 Months!

As usual things have been super busy around here with work, callings, chores and traveling for Thanksgiving. I cannot believe we've almost blasted through another month, time is just flying! In result....the blog has once again taken the "back burner" but I will try to get it up to speed.

Blakely had her 4 MONTH check up on November 20 (the day before we set out for our exodus to see family for Thanksgiving) and she is just growing like a weed. She is a petite little thing compared to other babes her age but she is growing great according to her own little curve. Her sweet chubby cheeks and double chin is a little misleading, she's actually quite light.

Not only is she growing so quick but she is also learning and developing so many skills. It seems like everyday she gets better at something or does something new. We are just constantly amazed by how smart our little peach is.

We spent this Thanksgiving with Brock's family which is a 10-11 hour drive so we were a little nervous how the babe would do on her first long trip. We were pleasantly surprised at how well she held up. She slept most of the way and only fussed a tiny bit, which I don't blame her! She also had her shots the day before so she wasn't even feeling all that great but she was still a champ.

4 Month Stats

13 Pounds 4 Ounces
24 Inches Tall
35%  for Height  40 % for Weight
Growth spurts?...I think YES!
Hair is starting to grow a little more but it's still pretty sparse
"fat" knees-so cute
Eyes are blue/gray-left eye has a speck of brown at the top. We are wondering if they are going to change to green or brown?
Still LOVES baths and still LOATHES getting out- just learned that she loves to put her feet under the facet when filling up the tub and she's sad when the water stops.
Generally sleeps from 8:30pm-7:30am with a feeding at 3:30am & 6:30am (I wish she would drop the 3:30 feeding but the doc says she's actually doing great and that she still needs that feeding)
She's reaching and grabbing for everything!!!!
More interactive with her toys and plays independently longer.
Smiles nonstop
Jabbers all the time but her favorite sounds to make is a growl
Can take her binky in and out and prefers to do it herself-she fusses if we try to give it to her
Has gotten really slobbery-close to teething?
Loves: music, books, Baby Einstein & singing songs
Turned into a "mama's girl"
Officially moved into her own room:(
Met the rest of her family (mostly)
Can roll from belly to back but is still working on the back to belly roll.
Babysat for the first time (by family)
Earned the nicknames "Cheeky" & "Peaches" because of her chubby cheeks
People always tell us she has big eyes...?:)
Doesn't like to be "held like a baby", prefers standing and being held out so she can see what's going on around her
Has given up the swaddle
Started laughing
Is better about going to bed on her own
Wants to put EVERYTHING in her mouth
Has Daddy wrapped
Sweetest & Happiest baby EVER!

Waiting for the doc at her check up!

HALLOWEEN

Halloween was really fun this year with our little family. We did many "spooktacular" things throughout the month to get ourselves in the "spooky spirit".
My parents, my sister and her kids came for a visit and to meet the little miss. While they were here we had our annual "SPOOKY DINNER". It was so fun to have them here, I hope they can stay longer next time!
We also participated in Blakely's first Trick Or Treating experience at the Church's Trunk Or Treat. They had a carnival and parade prior to the Trunk or Treating which was super fun. It was fun to have our little "puppy" out to show off and to visit with our church friends.
Halloween was pretty mello-ish. Blakely and I spent the day at home making our traditional Halloween grub which is homemade chili, spudnuts & cider. It's pretty much an all day ordeal which I learned is REALLY tricky with an infant. It was such a warm and beautiful day that we did take the opportunity to get some fresh air on a walk. We stayed home Halloween night and Brock handed out candy while I glazed spudnuts and we watched a spooky flick ( I had nightmares). We also had some of our good pals stop by for a visit which is always fun!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Nette, Brin & Bransen met little B for the first time!

We ate Brains, Frankenstein Diahrrea, Rodent Femurs & Bird Guts. We also drank some good old Spider Venom:)

It's getting REALLY hard to get a good picture of this baba-she is so wiggly

Blakely's Room

I've been meaning to post these pictures of Blakely's room but I am horrible about keeping up on my blogging lately.
I really love how the nursery turned out even though it's not what I originally imagined. The thing that excites me the most is that the decor can grow with her and I won't (hopefully) have to change things for a while!

My Friend made this adorable sign for Blakely's room, I just love it. Check out her stuff on EtsyHERE

(she's so tiny here...she is getting so BIG..sniff, sniff)

I Love It Here!

Blakely Meets my BFF

Conference Weekend!
My bestest childhood friend, Ally, came to see us over conference weekend to meet the baby. Ally spent the whole weekend with us and it was so fun to have her. Brock was gone most of Saturday fishing with his best pal, Casey, so it worked out nicely.
While Ally was here we had a "Blast From the Past" party. We got out old photos, music, movies and snacks that reminded us of our silly past. We enjoyed reminiscing about all of the silly things that we did growing up. I'm glad I have someone so fun in my life.

Brock's FUN life...

...LUCKY HIM!
Life has been super different for us since the baby was born and soooo many things have changed. We've had to make several adjustments in our lives and routine over the last few months. For the most part we welcome these changes and have enjoyed our new life with Blake.
Lucky for BROCK...he is still livin' up the fall with fishing and hunting. He has been out hunting almost every weekend since the last weekend in August and has been on a couple fishing trips too. Since we live so close to the mountains where he hunts, he has also been going out in the early mornings before work and in the evenings after work.
I admit I am quite jealous of his free time and that he has not had to give up his hobbies like me  some other people I know well.
Don't get me wrong, he's great help but I am getting weary of the hunting/fishing season this year.

My baby is THREE Months Old!

3 Months Old Today!

It's hard to believe that little Blaker's is already 3 months old! Time has just flown by, but I guess that happens when you are super busy, tired and sometimes overwhelmed with life? This three month mark has been really fun. She is really starting to show her little personality, which is so sweet and cute.
She is just growing so quickly but it is sooo fun to watch. Brock weighed her the other day and according to our scale she is about 12 pounds, which is totally awesome! She is really starting to put on some super cute baby rolls that we just love to kiss and squeeze!
We are so blessed to have such a sweet little baby girl in our lives! We are totally in love and obsessed with our little Miss Blakely!

Three Month Highlights
Finding her voice-"gooing" and "talking" to us all the time
Full of smiles-it just melts your heart to get a "Blakely Smile"
Starting to blow bubbles and make silly noises
Better at moving her arms and hands-she can totally & purposely move her fists around to suck on them:(
Loves to have mom & dad sing songs to her-she love fun ones with the actions during play time and primary ones to relax at nap time & bedtime. (Dad makes up his own songs to sing since he doesn't remember any kid or primary songs. They are pretty funny to listen to).
She loves to look at pictures while we read books to her-it's fun to watch her eyes "bug out" when she's concentrating on the page.
She is starting to play with her toys on her bouncer, play gym & car seat
She pretty much holds her head up all the time and prefers to be straight up-loves her Bumbo
Scratch wounds on her face-mom isn't very good at clipping nails well:(
Has developed a little bit of a sensitive side-she frowns or cries if you pull a "scary" face at her or if a noise startles her
Loves to go for walks
Loves to be outside
Dislikes shopping
Fusses when mom leaves the room-it's so cute but I know it's not a good thing:(
Loves bath time-Dad is in charge of baths
Doesn't like getting ready for bed but loves to be slathered in lotion & essential oils-Dad's nightly routine
Sits up really well when propped
Sleeping habits are the same-5 hours sleep, feed, 3 hours sleep, feed, 2 hours sleep, feed, 2 hours sleep & then awake for the day
Naps vary-likes to be held during naps (very bad)
Spent a weekend in Idaho with Great Grandparents
Getting better at long car rides
Probably over photographed!
Cute as EVER!

Newborn Pictures...

...A FEW MONTHS LATE!

It  has taken me forever to get these up but I think they turned out really cute! We had Blakely's newborn pictures taken when she was just 7 days old and she did great. Our friend Stevie from Stevie Lyn Photography took these adorable pictures and spent a couple hours with us to get some great shots. (she didn't even care when Blakely peed all over the place). She was so awesome to work and was super affordable. If you are in the area and looking for a great Photographer you should check out her website at the above link.

My Dearest friend Halsey took the following pictures for me when Blakely was 3 weeks old. I had ordered this adorable tutu for Blakely's Newborn pictures but it didn't get here in time for her first photoshoot so Halsey agreed to help me out. She did such a great job with Blakely and she got some super cute shots! She is such a fun and creative gal, you should check out her awesome blog & etsy shop at Spunky Junky .
