Somma TwentyThirteen Recap

Since moving life has been on the "fast track" and I haven't kept up on the blog as well as I should.  I thought I'd do a quick recap of the fun things we've been up to this summer.

BILLINGS TEMPLE TRIP
While we were trying to make our decision to move we made a trip to Billings to go to the Temple. Since it's a 2.5 hour drive and a couple hours in the Temple, we didn't think we could leave the baby with a sitter which left us taking turns in the Temple.
It was a hot and beautiful day to be at the Temple and Blakely really well.

 "ALOHA" PARTY
(Monday before our move)
Our friends threw us an "Aloha Party" to say goodbye to us and our friends that were moving to Washington and also to say "welcome back" to our friends that had just moved back to Bozeman. It was a fun party and good to say our goodbyes. We have such great friends who we miss bunches!

FOURTH OF JULY
Our 4th of July was not typical this year with the move. We pretty much just worked and packed all day long. My parents, Damion, and Marlon came to help us with the move. That night we went to dinner and watch the neighborhood fireworks! It was a good night but a little bittersweet knowing that it was our last night in our home and on our street with our nieghbors. Both Brock and I were wanting to "pull the plug" on the whole thing while we sat on our front lawn. Right now ( two months later...) I still want to pull the plug!
I don't have any pictures of Blakely with the fireworks because she was not imressed! We actually woke her up to watch them which I think was a bad idea! I don't blame her...if someone pulled me out of bed and put me under bright booming sounds...I'd be rather annoyed myself.  But HEY...she saw her first FIREWORKS!!!
I'm Thankful For Freedom!

SWIMMING & PARKS
Blakely is my best buddy these days and we've had a lot of fun spending time at Splash Parks and Swimming Pools. She is such a little fish and LOVES the water! She could spend an entire day in the water if she could. It was SO HOT here all summer that it was a MUST to spend time in the water!

Blakely LOVES playing at the park especially now that she can walk and climb. She loves going down the slides and goes down all by herself. She is so fearless! She could spend hours playing at the park.

MAYFIELD
(August)
Shilo and Devin came for Iowa this summer so we spent time in Mayfield with the family. It was the FIRST time in a LONG time that the whole family was there. It was the first time that all of the babies were together so it was fun to watch them play.
It was a fun weekend with the family. We did Chicken in a Barrel, Ulitmate S'more Nite, Swimming and Fishing!
When I went down to Mayfield I stopped in Ephraim to check out the "stomping grounds" and it was so fun to walk down memory lane. I still just LOVE Ephraim and Snow! I also got to see my old roommate/friend, Brooke.

CABIN & JORDANELLE
(August)
Brock and I took Blakely to my family's cabin in Heber for a weekend and pulled the boat to Jordanelle Res. It was such a nice and relaxing weekend at the cabin. It was the quiet getaway that we needed!
We put the boat on the lake and cruised and swam for a couple hours. Blakely LOVED the boat ride, she was laughing and smiling the whole time. She like swimming too but the water was a little chilly so we didn't leave her in too long.
The cabin was the best medicine for missing the mountains and country living. We went on walks, spent time at the river, saw wild life and slept A LOT! It was such a fun weekend!

DISCOVERY GATEWAY & CITY CREEK
(August)
Blakely and I spent a fun day with my Sister-in-Law, Niece, and Great Nephew checking out the new City Creek and playing at the Discovery Gateway. Blakely had a lot of fun playing and was totally pooped by the time we got home. The bummer part of the whole thing is that we lost baby's new purse:(

GARDNER VILLAGE & KK'S BAPTISM
(August)
I took Blakely to Gardner Village for an afternoon and we saw some really fun things. She was the cutest little thing walking around, dancing and holding her purse.

Brock was asked by Kadence to speak at her baptism so we spent another fun and quick weekend in Mayfield. Grandma H-S and Duane were there so Blakely was able to see Grandma so that was great!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND-YUBA LAKE
We took a little trip with the the boat to Yuba Lake over the long weekend. It was the perfect day on the lake and for playing on the beach. Blakely had a super time playing in the water and in the sand. She also loved eating handfuls of sand:) It was a good DAY!

Remembering

My niece's High School soccer team organized an awesome tribute before her game.
Each girl from both teams was escorted by someone who has served or is currently serving the country. They also recognized many locals who have died in the line of duty.
Ambree was escorted by my brother (her uncle) who is the Asst. Fire Chief for UFD. He even got to present the game ball! (:
It was an awesome opportunity for everyone to remember that day. It also gave me time to recognize my blessings I have because of Freedom.
God Bless!

The News. The DownLow. The LowDown. The What's Happening.

Okay, I realize that this is kind of OLD NEWS but I realized the other day that it's kinda unclear what is going in our lives these days...
A few posts back I said that we had some exciting news to share but had to wait a while longer. Well, the news was that we had decided to move back to Utah. The decision was kinda up in the air because it was a scary thing to leave our house and our Montana lifestyle. Another factor that kinda  left us hanging was that Brock had a job offer in both Montana and Utah, so there was A LOT of thinking and weighing that was going on.
Going back a bit...Brock's job at Titan had pretty much come to a "dead end" and so we began looking into options at the beginning of 2013. Brock actually interviewed for the job he currently has in April 2013 and that was the beginning of this new adventure.
Everything happened super fast once the decision was made. We were both pretty much dragging our feet at the idea to move. We LOVE Montana and it has become our home  so it was really hard to accept that we were moving. I didn't pack a single box until four days before we moved...I was kinda hoping everything would fall through! Thankfully, we had family, friends and ward members help us and we were out in a few days.
We were packed up and on the road on Saturday July 6th and headed back to Utah. I have never felt so sick and sad in my entire life! I pretty much cried the whole drive and the last several weeks, it's been SO hard to leave HOME.  It's funny that since we've been in Montana I've referred to Utah as MY home (it is and always will be) but I didn't realize how much Montana had become OUR home over the last 6 years. So much of who we are as individuals and as a family is the lifestyle we created in Bozeman. It's going to be quite an adjustment to be back in Utah but I'm sure it will be great.
Currently, Brock is working for Mountain America Credit Union and he's enjoying a more laid back work environment. We were planning to try to rent or buy something here but we still have our home in Bozeman and we're hesitant to do much with house while still owning a home in Montana. So we are living with my parents in SOJO. We've both have had to swallow our pride because we said we'd NEVER live with the parentals....never say NEVER! Originally we were only going to be here until we found a place but I think we'll stay at my parent's place until our Lease on our Bozeman home is up. So we're going to be in the basement for about a year, which is weird but it will be nice to save some cash for a home! It's pretty weird to be back in my childhood neighborhood...fun and creepy.
Life is really weird right now. Everything feels weird, backwards, and really sad. I'm having a super hard time being away from my house, Montana, friends, and my life. I'm not sure if this Utah thing is going to work out for me?....
There are some perks...the important kind...it's great to see family. It's fun to have Blakely interact with her cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents and get to know them better. We've been able to do some really fun things with family so far and I imagine it will continue to be ultra fun with the holidays coming up. I am also enjoying some of the other perks to Utah and I'm looking forward to all the events I've missed out on for years and years.
So, in a long explanation....that's where we're at and that's what's going on with us! Wish us luck on our new adventure!

Going Private

So I'm considering going "Private" so that I can continue writing details about our lives without worrying about the weirdos!
My blog is pretty much our family journal and scrapbook so I write pretty personal stuff with a lot of details! (Which is probably annoying to everyone but me .... I just like remembering details).

Anyway, if you want to continue following us just shoot me an email and I'll add you to our list. I think I'll wait a few weeks to change anything for now.

Thanks y'all!!!

13 months

Life is still pretty crazy right now for all of us but Blakely is still happy as a clam! She is 13 months now and oh so fun!

We've been doing a lot of playing during the tail end of summer (since we missed the beginning and middle) so I'm exhausted!

Blakely LOVES to swim and we do a lot of it. She thinks she is big enough to walk around the pool by herself and hates her life jacket. ... of course! She is a social little swimmer and loves the water-I love it!

Right now she is mimicking more words and sounds and carries on "conversations". Her favorite is still "hi" and she says it to everyone; ) she also found the "oh" to "uh oh" and really drags it out. ie: "ut oohhhh", it's really adorable.
She's started more with giving kisses and blowing kisses. Which we do every morning when daddy leaves (she has to watch him drive away).
She carries a purse with her everywhere that contains her essentials. .. toys and a bink.
She is just about running! She goes really fast when she is running to dad when he gets home, if she knows she's in trouble, or if we're playing "get you". It's cute.
She is working on her fourth molar and has had some rough moments but has handled it well.

Her favorite thing to do right now is to go outside and walk in circles while picking up leaves and rocks. She also loves to wander the house and find things to scatter everywhere.

She has a pretty awesome life! ♥♥♥

Blakely's 12 month traits

Better late than never right? Since Blakely is on the down side of 12 months and quickly approaching 13 months, I thought I better jot down what she's currently up to!

Blakely is really coming into her own! Her little personality is shinning through more and more these days. (I say that all the time) She keeps us on our toes and she is always teaching us how to be better people. Her little spirit is so strong and special, we are so blessed to be her parents. She is pretty much the sweetest, smartest and most beautiful person I know!

Loves to dance and her moves evolve everyday. It started with a head bob, then squatting, then arms in the air, then twisting her hips, and as of late a little bounce. (same movement to any beat)
Loves music (dances to everything-even the hymns)
Packs around our phones and listens to the music on them
Turning into a little teaser
Loves her motorcycle
Loves to drink a lot of water (unless it's super cold)
Drinks from a straw-mostly mommy's big Camelbak bottle
Is obsessed with the dogs and chatters with in a high pitch voice. She pets Brutus and attacks and tackles Boog. ( she thinks she's hilarious)
Carries purses around all day (or anything that has a strap)
Walking like a little pro! She rarely falls and when she does it ticks her right off!
Is pretty much done with ALL baby food and primarily eats regular stuff. She eats really good and tries everything. (even onions, peppers, avocado)
Drinks a morning and evening bottle of COW milk:)
Sleeping okaaay...current situations are kinda messing her sleep up
Talking all day long!
Nods "Yes" and "No"
Just got a new car seat that is front facing, yay! (she LOVES it! The first time she rode in it she was so excited)
Loves to swim
Wanders the house all day long and makes little messes EVERYWHERE!
Says: "mama", "dada", "Ya", "Hi", "Uh Oh"
Sings to herself
Prefers anything to play with that isn't an ACTUAL toy
Learning to play with "friends" and cousins
Loves to go up and down stairs (thinks she can go up and down like adults...ummm no)
Loves to open and close doors all day....seriously...ALL DAY!
Impatient with reading books ( I rarely get through an entire book with her)
Enough hair for a pony that she rips out. Plus she won't let me put headbands on her anymore so I make sure her clothes are girly:)
Has 11 teeth and bites (8 Incisors, 3 Molars, and working on her lower left molar)
Understands everything! She actually listens and follows directions, it's crazy!
She has to go out every morning and watch Daddy leave for work and wave. She's just learning how to blow kisses.
She will sometimes give kisses when you ask. She likes kissing daddy more than mommy:( She makes a cute little "kissy" noise by smacking her lips.
She is trying to RUN! She runs with open arms to Daddy when he gets home at night. It's heart melting.

Life with Blakely is busy, exhausting, exciting, fulfilling, happy, messy, hot, sticky, loud, rewarding, and the best life ever. We love her so so much!!
