My baby is THREE Months Old!

3 Months Old Today!

It's hard to believe that little Blaker's is already 3 months old! Time has just flown by, but I guess that happens when you are super busy, tired and sometimes overwhelmed with life? This three month mark has been really fun. She is really starting to show her little personality, which is so sweet and cute.
She is just growing so quickly but it is sooo fun to watch. Brock weighed her the other day and according to our scale she is about 12 pounds, which is totally awesome! She is really starting to put on some super cute baby rolls that we just love to kiss and squeeze!
We are so blessed to have such a sweet little baby girl in our lives! We are totally in love and obsessed with our little Miss Blakely!

Three Month Highlights
Finding her voice-"gooing" and "talking" to us all the time
Full of smiles-it just melts your heart to get a "Blakely Smile"
Starting to blow bubbles and make silly noises
Better at moving her arms and hands-she can totally & purposely move her fists around to suck on them:(
Loves to have mom & dad sing songs to her-she love fun ones with the actions during play time and primary ones to relax at nap time & bedtime. (Dad makes up his own songs to sing since he doesn't remember any kid or primary songs. They are pretty funny to listen to).
She loves to look at pictures while we read books to her-it's fun to watch her eyes "bug out" when she's concentrating on the page.
She is starting to play with her toys on her bouncer, play gym & car seat
She pretty much holds her head up all the time and prefers to be straight up-loves her Bumbo
Scratch wounds on her face-mom isn't very good at clipping nails well:(
Has developed a little bit of a sensitive side-she frowns or cries if you pull a "scary" face at her or if a noise startles her
Loves to go for walks
Loves to be outside
Dislikes shopping
Fusses when mom leaves the room-it's so cute but I know it's not a good thing:(
Loves bath time-Dad is in charge of baths
Doesn't like getting ready for bed but loves to be slathered in lotion & essential oils-Dad's nightly routine
Sits up really well when propped
Sleeping habits are the same-5 hours sleep, feed, 3 hours sleep, feed, 2 hours sleep, feed, 2 hours sleep & then awake for the day
Naps vary-likes to be held during naps (very bad)
Spent a weekend in Idaho with Great Grandparents
Getting better at long car rides
Probably over photographed!
Cute as EVER!

Our little pumpkin!

Newborn Pictures...

...A FEW MONTHS LATE!

It  has taken me forever to get these up but I think they turned out really cute! We had Blakely's newborn pictures taken when she was just 7 days old and she did great. Our friend Stevie from Stevie Lyn Photography took these adorable pictures and spent a couple hours with us to get some great shots. (she didn't even care when Blakely peed all over the place). She was so awesome to work and was super affordable. If you are in the area and looking for a great Photographer you should check out her website at the above link.

My Dearest friend Halsey took the following pictures for me when Blakely was 3 weeks old. I had ordered this adorable tutu for Blakely's Newborn pictures but it didn't get here in time for her first photoshoot so Halsey agreed to help me out. She did such a great job with Blakely and she got some super cute shots! She is such a fun and creative gal, you should check out her awesome blog & etsy shop at Spunky Junky .

Blakely's Blessing

I haven't posted Blakely's Blessing pictures yet because I've been waiting for our camera to show up (we lost our camera the weekend of her blessing and sadly it's full of blessing pictures) but I am about 99.5% sure that we lost it hiking and we aren't going to get it back:( Luckily, I took some pictures on my phone and the family took some pictures so we have some...but it's not the same. I had taken some really CUTE pictures of Blakely in her blessing dress that are on that camera and I don't really have any of just her on my phone.  About a week after her blessing I made her get back into her dress to try to get some cute pictures but she hated it this time and just about every picture that I got she is crying in. I'm so so bummed because the ones on the camera were so much happier than what we have now but at least we have something....right?...??? I'm heart broken about the blasted camera, I keep praying it will turn up but I have that gut feeling that it's gone for good:(

Anyhow, enough of the sob story! Blakely's blessing was actually really fun and special for us! We blessed her September 2, 2012 ( Labor Day Weekend) and a lot of our family was able to attend. In fact our family took up an entire side of the chapel and they had to open the overflow, (which NEVER happens) they thanked us later for boosting their numbers for the month, hahaha. Brock gave Blakely a very sweet and special blessing, it was so touching to watch and listen to. It made me feel complete to have her be "officially" on the Church records and to receive that blessing.

Afterwards we had a BBQ at the house with the family and a few close friends. The food was the bomb and the weather was perfect! It was fun and a little stressful to finally host our family at our house. It was fun to have everybody on our "turf" though.

When the BBQ was done Brock's Grandma H., Aunt Trina and Uncle Carlos headed out and his parents went for a drive. We decided to take my family to Big Sky to hike. We enjoyed our hike to the falls with the family. It was really nice to get some fresh air and to spend time together.

Monday morning everyone except Brock's parents cleared out and headed home. Brett & Sherry stayed until Tuesday morning. We had had family at the house since the previous Monday (Brady & Laura Family) so it was bitter sweet to have a quiet house.

It was all really fun but exhausting too. It's hard to balance a house, entertaining and an infant. I'm a rookie and I'm quickly learning I can't do as much as I used to be able to do in the past. I was really grateful for every one's willingness to help while they were here.

Do you think this kid has a paranoid mom?

Yellowstone & Beartooth Hwy

A few weeks ago (August 16-18) we decided to take a much needed mini vacation together. We decided to go to Cook City for our first family vacation. We drove through the North Entrance of Yellowstone and then we drove the Beartooth Hwy in Wyoming. Brock and I have had the Beartooth Highway (Top of The World) on our check list for a LONG time, so we were so excited to finally do it.
Blakely did really well considering the non-stop car time. She had a few freak outs that resulted in a few stops to help the little one chilax! Traveling is a little more tricky with a little one but it's also a lot of fun. We can't wait to introduce this beautiful world to our little beauty!

The air was a little smokey so some of the views weren't that clear.
