May & June Travels...

...Anyone else feel like you are on a Carousel and life is just flying past you? The last 4-6 weeks have been insane for us for many reasons but a big one is all the traveling we've done.

We've had birthdays, two weddings, father's day, and missionary homecoming events. Not to mention two family reunions and Grandma's 80th party in Idaho coming up. Needless to say we've spent probably half of of the last month in Utah and in our Honda. It's been crazy fun and just plain crazy! (not to mention some other crazy business that is happening that we are excited to announce soon)!

Obviously the blog/journal has been the LAST priority but since I never  rarely write in my journal or scrapbook, I thought I better back log a bit of the last month.

So this is the beginning of the beginning of our summer!

We headed south over Memorial Day weekend and spent a week with family. While we were down there my nephew, Damion, returned home from his mission and we had some fun family parties. I was also able to participate in my nephew, Jake's, fiance's endowment in the Draper Temple. I was also able to watch a couple of my nieces dance and one play in a soccer tournament. Lots of fun!
Monday was my 30th Birthday and as usual Brock had some fun things planned for us. We got up early and headed to American Fork Canyon to hike. Everyone and their DOG was there since it was Memorial Day! Fortunately, we were the only ones on that trail head at that time so we had a lovely hike with just the three of us! ( nice not worrying about bears=no gun or bear spray)
After hiking we scurried home and cleaned up and Brock took me clothes shopping. He practically forced me... I've been resisting because I'd like to lose some more weight! I admit, I am glad to have some fresh items in my closet!
Then we headed to my nephew's missionary BBQ where they surprised me with an "Over the Hill" party. Brock had our friends, who own "One Sweet Slice", make me an awesome tombstone cake. It was amazing and delish! It was a super surprise.
Wednesday we had my nephew's wedding, luncheon and reception. It was such a beautiful day to be in the Temple and to spend with our loved ones. It was such a beautiful wedding!
We headed home after that set of parties, unpacked, did laundry and packed up again and headed back down for some more fun!
Thursday my sister had her Bachelorette party which was super fun and relaxing. Friday we did some running around and Saturday was the wedding. The wedding was so lovely and we are so happy for Lynette and Earl. They are going to have their hands full with the blended family thing but it will be awesome:)
Sunday we headed down to Brock's parents for a few days. We had a fun family dinner and s'more roast the first night we were there. The next day we headed to Palisade Lake for the afternoon followed by Kaleb and Kadence's baseball games. We had an awesome time with the family!

Here are some pictures from the last several events! Warning, picture overload!

Headed Home....Finally!
We stopped in Blackfoot for a picnic at the park and to get out and crawl!
 (What a good daddy!)
I think she has a pretty sweet set up back there...I think she would argue that!
 (thank heavens for Nemo).

Home for enough time to do laundry and pack up again!
Playing fetch with the dogs, she's always way far behind. We're pretty sure she thinks she's half puppy.
Coming home to these lovelies makes my heart happy.
She loves to play in the flowers

We had three baby birds living in our tree, so cute!
They are all grown up now and have "flown the nest".
Waving at the garbage man...we take waving and the removal of our trash seriously here.

What a "tree hugger"

Happy 11 MONTHS Baby Rae

We had a super fun day at the beach and Farmer's Market to celebrate her 11 month marker.
It was a hot and sunny day so spending time in water was a must.
Can't believe my baby is almost one!

Oh man, life with Blakely just keeps getting more and more fun the older she gets. Her little personality is sure shinning through these days more than ever. She is such a happy and bright spot in our lives, I can't imagine our home without her!
She is still such a social little butterfly! She loves being around people (at a distance, she doesn't really like strangers holding her) and becomes totally entranced by crowds. She waves and says "ha" (which means "hi") to every person, car, bird, dog....pretty much anything! She can wave with both hands but when she's excited she gets both arms going. She waves "hello" and "goodbye" and also waves for "nitenite" and "rock-a-by". (I think that last one just sounds like bye so she thinks it's time to wave but it's cute). I love her happy social and uninhibited personality, if only we all could be more like babies when we see people...
She is obsessed with the outdoors! Seriously, she wakes up every morning and crawls to the front door and does this funny little whine with her nose scrunched and her lips all puckered until we take her out for some fresh air. She either is content just hanging on the porch or insists on getting down to play in the grass and in the flowerbeds. She begs to go out through out the day also or she is sad if she is left inside while one of us goes out. We went camping last weekend and she was so happy playing in the dirt, rocks, mud, water and weeds. She was so upset when we brought her inside. She just absolutely loves being outside!
She is still just crawling everywhere. We keep thinking that one of these days she'll decide to walk but it hasn't yet. She prefers walking while holding our hands. She primarily just uses one hand to walk now and we really don't do much but doesn't realize that. She will take a step or two by herself and can stand for bit but she freaks herself out or spazes and falls. Lately she has figured out how to stand up from a sitting position so we think she's getting it all figured out. Who knows? We'll see what she decides to do.
She still just has her upper and lower incisors but I'm pretty sure she's going to start cutting her molars soon. I can feel all four bumps so I'm sure with our luck they will all cut at once!
Blakely is still sleeping like a champ! She still takes her morning and afternoon naps that are two hours long each-awesome! She hits the hay at 8:00 at night and sleeps anywhere from 6-7:30 in the morning. We are so lucky!
She is still a jabbery little thing and is so LOUD! She talks non-stop and she makes conversation with us. She will crawl around looking for "Da" all day and she says "maaa ma ma" when she is mad, hungry, or tired. She is still growling up a storm and will growl at the pups to get their attention and she growls when she plays. Sometimes she growls when she's frustrated ( think she gets that from me). She makes all sorts of silly fun noises!
She loves the dogs! Seriously, she is smitten with Boog and is obsessed with Brutus. Boog tolerates her and Brutus is not a huge fan of her pulling his hair, tail and eyes. When the dogs are playing she crawls around laughing and tries to get in the mix of the "playing". Unfortunately they always move away when she gets close but she just thinks it's funny and follows. Its' so cute to watch.
It's so fun to watch her learn and grow! It's incredible how much she is understanding right now and she is just soooo smart. I can't wait to see what kind of awesome things she'll be doing during this next month.
