8 Months and Cruising!

Today is Blakely's eight month marker and the biggest and newest thing she is doing is crawling. I think she does it mostly out of necessity and would much rather be walking if she could:) She has just started moving from room to room and around the furniture. She has gotten her first bumps and bruises on her head since she is now mobile. It's fun to watch her move from toy to toy and to come to us when she wants us. Today we were in her room playing and she heard her daddy come home and she booked it down the hall to find him fussing the whole way. It's fun to have her expressing herself in a new way.
She is also enjoying trying more foods and learning fine motor skills while trying to feed herself. Sometimes she gets the little pieces to her mouth and most of the time she doesn't. ( work in progress I suppose). We've let her sample food off of our plate and now she is like another puppy beggin for food at dinner:) She grunts, leans or cries to get some of our food. It's fun to watch her sample new foods.
Also, she is sleeping much better, which awesome. Some nights she sleeps all night and others she is up a time or two. I'm just grateful to have a full night a couple nights a week! I'm getting ready to switch things up so we'll see how it goes.
Anyway, she is just an awesome happy little gal. She loves to smile and be social with most people, which I love. We are having loads of fun with her!

Smiley-a variety of expressions and smiles. She has a silly crooked smile that seems like a courtesy smile.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Honestly, St. Patrick's Day is no big deal in our house...mainly because we are not Irish or raging alcoholics. I do throw up my 2-3 decorations typically but this year I didn't even do that. We did wear green to church though! (well kinda, I have a shamrock pin I wore on my shirt). Also, I was sad because I had this really cute St. Patty's Day shirt for B to wear and she pooped on it right before church...argh! Oh well, good thing it was only $1.50:)
Anyway, we had a lovely Non-Alcoholic St. Patty's Day as a family. Maybe next year I'll be fun and do something fun with our food for the wee one???

Crawling....oh MY!

Baby has been working on this for some time but really got serious about it at 7 months and was on the move at 7 1/2 months. She has gotten better and quicker every day. In the last couple days she has started venturing into other rooms. I guess we need to baby proof the house? nah...baby proofing is for babies:)

I can do it myself!

Power outage and more...

A couple weeks ago our power went for half the day and into the night. Luckily we knew right where our candles were but we did have to hunt down decent flashlights. We were also thankful we had our fireplace and our handy dandy buddy heater. The only thing we really lacked was decent food so we ordered pizza. It gave us insight of where we need improvement with our Emergency Preparedness.

Watching snow fly a couple weeks ago.

We decided to let the babe take a break from her diaper and sit on a "Pee Pad" that we had from when our dogs were pups. She stayed on it the whole time and didn't pee. (when we moved the pad to get her dressed, she peed) Of course Boog had to be in the picture!

She loves this toy and loves to stand. This girl will stand and play with this toy all day, she loves it!

This girl is mobile!
She started crawling at 7 and a half months and is constantly on the go now!

Love To See The TEMPLE

We finally made our first Temple Trip since the wee one was born. It was sooo nice to be back in the Temple after almost a full year (yikes)!
Since our Temple is 2.5 hours away it does make things extra tricky with a baby. Luckily, Blakely slept the whole way there and was happy to play while we each took turns inside. It was a beautiful day in billings and felt so warm. It was a perfect day to be at the Temple.

Rivers

Okay, I'm really doing horribly about keeping up  on blogging which totally sucks because this is my journal/scrapbook these days. I need to do better! One reason I've been bad is because our computer has been having some functionality issues lately. Hopefully we just resolved them by having some new spyware and more RAM. We'll see....

Anyway, this is a random post from the random things we've been up to.

The weather has been pretty awesome here and we've been able to get out and enjoy the sunshine a bit. We went out for a walk by the Madison and a drive to Paradise to take a walk around the Yellowstone. (we also got to go see our friend Dusty at his new place in Paradise) These are two different outings and they are totally out of chronological order with the rest of my blogging, which drives me crazy but oh well.
