Lava Lake

Last Saturday we spent the day hiking to Lava Lake. Once we got to the lake we just hung out and did some fishing. I think it's one of my favorite hikes that we've done.

B-Rock's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Brock!

Brock had a pretty low key and mellow Birthday this year, which is actually how he likes it. ( I tend to make a big deal out of it most of the time). We just spent the evening hanging out together and did some shopping. This year he wanted to go shopping and pick out his own gift, which I thought was totally lame but he loved it. He was acting like a "kid in a candy shop" while he was picking out a perfect knife.

Here it is.....
a closer view.....
He got this shirt from my brother and his wife, it's so fitting for Brock.
.....and then there was dessert!
I made a super yummy ice cream cake/pie, it tasted better than it looks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
(Thanks to everyone who sent cards & gifts and wished him a happy day)!

FUN AT THE MADDI

Sunday afternoon we went down to the Maddi to bask in the beautiful sunshine!
The river is flowing pretty fast and high right now.
Me and my gal pal playing at the river!

WHITE WATER RAFTING
Brock went with some friends to raft the river nearby our home. He said it was a lot of fun but really cold! He's trying to get me to go now....I don't think so...too scary!

Here's a puppy pic from their recovery...you can tell how yucky they feel.

My poor poopsies...

Last weekend we had our dogs fixed and it was the most sad and long day I've had in a long time.
There was a free spay and neuter clinic in town and we made an appointment a few weeks before for both of our dogs.We took them to the facility and thought that we would just drop them off for a few hours and then pick them up. When we walked in, it was a large room filled to brim with people and their pets. I stood at the door in shock of the whole scene. Surgeries were going on in plain view in the open and people were in line waiting for their turns. I couldn't believe it (what should I expect though...right) and I turned and left the building and called our Vet. I chatted with them about cost and procedure and it was going to cost us $500 to fix both of our pets. We really had no choice so we went back in and checked ourselves in.
We were there for almost 5 1/2 hours from start to finish. Our dogs did pretty well with the wait and with the surgery. They gave them shots about half way through to relax them. The shot wore off on Brutus as soon as they started trying to get the anesthetic going though. They finally got him out and put a tube down his throat, the feisty little turd spit the thing out and came to. They had to do it all over again.
Booger was just so sad to watch. He's so sweet and tender hearted that he just cried and whaled while they were trying to put him out. It made me cry to watch him, he was so sad. Both their surgeries went well and were prompt. Brutus came to and seemed really well. Boog on the other hand had a harder time coming to. He went to sleep crying and howling and woke up doing the same. It took him longer to be okay enough to leave.
They were both in a lot of pain the first two days. They just squeaked and cried with every move, it was so sad to watch.
They are both back to normal now and playing...I'm so glad!

Golden 27

27

Have you ever had something that you looked forward to your entire life? Something so far in the future that it seemed like it was never going to happen? Well, for me that "something" was my 27th Birthday! I know it's weird and random but I have always looked forward to my 27th Birthday and I would always imagine what I'd be doing, where I'd be and who I'd be with. I'm glad to report that at 27, I'm thankful to be doing what I'm doing, I'm happy where I'm at and LOVE who I'm with! Although being another year older is bitter sweet and having that "something" that I've thought about since I was kid, come and go, I'm happy.

My Birthday has been a big party and a lot of fun! Brock did so much for me all day and made my day great! He made me breakfast, deep cleaned my car, weeded my garden so I could finish planting, picked up the house and did the dishes. He also got me some pretty sweet gifts and took me out to a yummy dinner! Thanks again love...

Me first thing in the morning with Brock's gift.
(pretty sweet wrapping huh)!

Brock got me these super nice Keen Hiking shoes that I've wanted since last summer! I'm pumped to out and get on the trails!

My friend planned a girls outing for dessert for my Birthday.
It was super fun and really yummy!

To make my Birthday even better, my mom and 3 of my sisters came up to visit me for a girls weekend! It was so much fun to have them here for a long weekend. We did a lot of shopping, went to a movie, ate a lot of yummy food, watched chick flicks, laughed a lot and did some scrapbooking. They surprised me with some gifts and a birthday breakfast. I was so happy to have them here and super bummed to see them go.

SNAKE PEEL

OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW!

Snakes shed their skin to allow for growth, as well as to remove parasites along with their old skin. (explanation from google).

Brock started working for Wells in 2005 and it's been a huge journey and blessing for us. He quickly excelled at his job and made many great friendships. We moved a few times with the company and he landed his management job here in 2007. He accomplished many great things while with the company and grew a lot as an individual.
However, he started to "out grow his skin" and it was time to "shed it" along with it's parasite! Brock sloughed off Wells a couple weeks ago when he was offered a new job here with Titan.
He's been on paid vacation for the last couple weeks and is loving every minute of it. He spends most of his days off Bear hunting and fishing.
He will be starting his new job in a couple weeks and he's super excited about it. I'm sure stress will come with a new job because work is work, but hopefully it will take some time to get to that point.  We are looking forward to our new journey and know it will bring growth and learning experiences- we are grateful that it's letting us stay where we are at.

Good Luck Brock!

Brock's last day with WFF
He was pretty stoked!

Brock's WFF friends wanted to have a "goodbye" party for him, so we hosted it at our house. It was really fun to hang out with them. We've made really great friends here through the company!

I thought Brock should reward himself for his hard work over that last 5 years so he has his eyes on this scope for his riffle.

Congrats Brock!

Spring Yellowstone Trip

We had a mini vacation last weekend with Brock's Parents in West Yellowstone. They decided to come up and use their time share and invited us to "tag along". I was a lot of fun to be together and hang out for the weekend. We played in the condo, watched some Jazz games, hot tubed, ate yummy food and explored the Park. It was sooo relaxing and fun; we all agreed it went way too fast.

Yellowstone in May is still cold
(just thought you should know)
 Grizzly Bears
We saw 4 Grizzly Bears over the weekend, this is the closest one we saw and he wasn't even in the Park! Yep, he was just up the canyon from our house on our way to the park.

We saw a couple Buffalo with their cute babies

Another Grizzly
(this one is harder to see, but it's the brown spot)

Brock's Mama!

Here's Old Faithful....Again!
Brock and his parents watching it, and no Brock isn't the one in Camo this time.(like Father, like son).

This was a herd of Buffalo outside the park on the road on the way home. It's kinda funny to see Buffalo Warning street signs on the highway.
